and therefore it can’t be developed?
If they just train to be nuclear plant workers in the GE Mark 1-
(just like Chernobyl, 3 Mile Island, San Onofre and Fukushima)- they’d have jobs
making power- is that the real reason they hate nukes?

Sustainable Construction for a football stadium?
I was wondering if it is possible to construct a football stadium that is run on sustainable energy sources such as PV and what materials would be available to use for construction? I know timber is sustainable and it can sometimes be as strong and durable as steel but it is not really suitable for a football stand.

What is wrong with wanting to live on a sustainable, clean and healthy planet?
Many people think global climate change is based on “junk” science. Even if the science is wrong, and we follow guidlines to correct global climate change. The result is we end up with sustainable, efficient energy and a cleaner, healthier planet (to name a few benefits). What is wrong with that?
Don’t say money. All these things are free and save money: more walking, using less water, petitioning, voting, using less electric, not littering, educating those around you, reduce, reuse, recycle. By the way, I bought my hybrid used for $7,000. I have had it for three years. I get 56 mpg, and just get oil changes regularily. No, I don’t plug it in.

How comes people use John McCain’s POW time as an excuse for him supporting failed policies?
95% of the time he voted for Bush and now supports alot of his policies which brought us record job loss, record defecits, an inflated dollar, no renewable energy, and 500 billion dollars spent overseas and people use his POW time as an excuse?
That’s fucking pathetic.

Why do the environmentalist whackos prevent us from getting ahead?
China is drilling for oil 50 miles off our coast (closer to the US than our own oil rigs). The President of Iran stated he was going to build 7 new oil refineries so Iran can become self sufficiant. But we can’t get what is rightfully ours because the environmental weenies won’t let us. WHY? Have you seen the price of gas?
And please don’t give me any nonsense about biodeisel, renewable energy, blah blah blah.

Your Questions About Renewable Energy Jobs
Nancy asks…
What is your opinion on the presidential debate between Obama and McCain?
Obama wants to tax big oil companies, find safer ways to store nuclear waste and generate nuclear power, help auto manufactures create hybrid cars and give tax credits to those who purchase hybrids. John McCain will not tax big oil companies, believes nuclear energy is already safe and that we should build 45 more nuclear reactors in the U.S. He is willing to give $300 million to auto manufactures to create different types of hybrid cars, and will give tax credits toward renewable energy, and wants to sit down with other political leaders to set limits on carbon emissions by corporations. WHAT DO YOU THINK??

Wouldn’t it be better to spend $250 billion on a New Manhattan Project for clean, sustainable domestic energy?
than to dump $700 billion into a failed banking system?
Such a program would revitalize American industry, provide thousands of construction and engineering jobs, and provide vast investment potential–all while helping us kick the toxic foreign oil habit.
Seems like a win-win-win to me, whereas all the bailout proposal seems to do is get us to tread water for maybe a little longer.

Laura asks…
How valuable do you think green energy is to our future?
While we are depleting natural resources at a phenomenal rate.. eventually the oil reserves will be depleted, as well as our coal resources. Unfortunately, while green energies are still in their infantile state it makes more sense to capitalize off of fossil fuels while they are available to us. Would you place all of your bets on an energy source that is finite, or would you rather invest in future technologies that are sustainable?

Are you willing to pay an extra 30-40% on your electric bill if it’s 100% renewable energy?
I am moving to Dallas, and in Dallas they have like 20 different electric companies and some offer 100% renewable energy such as Green Mountain. I come to the conclusion that the cost is about 30-40% more than ones who don’t use renewable energy. Do you think paying the difference is worth it?

When I came back my wee bundle of joy had Sonic, (the obnoxious rodent) up on the screen & my Ireland article was gone. *so sad* Does anyone know what I was reading or referring to? Your Questions About Renewable Energy Jobs
Robert asks…
Are there university courses on the business of renewable energy?
Next year I will be going to a University (don’t know which one yet) and for a long time I’ve been wanting to study International Business Administration (IBA) but its seems that this study is kind of a back up course for any kid my age that doesn’t know what to do (not that that’s the reason why I don’t want to study it). However for me it was always important to stand out and do something different, so my question is whether there are any serious courses on the business of renewable energy… it seems that this will be a big thing in the future so I’m wondering if there will be important well paying jobs to for fill this business, and course at Ivy League Schools? Or should I just stick to IBA because its such a wide range course that i’ll be able to get a job at a renewable energy company anyway?
Btw I don’t know to much about engineering, it seems interesting but I have more an economical state of mind then anything else. If you do advise engineering for what I want to do, could you go more into depth for what kind of jobs that I would be looking at and what kind of stuff I would be doing throughout the ‘engineering’ course?

Why is every single Republican candidate a joke?
If you think people like Santorum, Bachmann, Gingrich, and Perry should be leading a country you are either not sane or unintelligent. I don’t understand why no one pays attention to somebody intelligent/knows what he’s talking about like Huntsman…hell even John McCain is more legitimate. Not a huge Obama fan but he’s basically got his 2nd term wrapped up.
